CHILDREN'S CHARITY MOVES IN TO NEW BROOK HOUSE
7/3/2007

The Children’s Society is to open an office in Nottingham to help with its STARS project which supports children affected by parental substance abuse. The leading national charity has taken a lease of a first floor office suite in New Brook House – the multi-tenanted building for start-up businesses.

New Brook House, to the north west of Nottingham city centre, is located on a prominent arterial route. Formerly a factory, the property was refurbished to a high standard six years ago by Nottingham Regeneration Limited (NRL).

Innes England, acting on behalf of NRL, has let the first floor office suite to The Children’s Society ‘STARS Project’ which now occupies a 1,500 sq ft office suite and has agreed a rent of £18,750 per annum, on a six-year term.

Emma Dowsett of Innes England said: “I am delighted with the successful letting of this office suite at New Brook House, particularly to a charitable organisation.”

The charity is moving to New Brook House from temporary office accommodation.

A spokeswoman for the Children’s Society said: “The STARS project has been in temporary offices for nearly a year now. New Brook House provides us with an ideal central base from which to operate our service for children affected by parental substance use in Nottingham.”

The property offers a number of managed office facilities, including meeting and training rooms and secretarial services. In total it houses 44 offices, ranging in sizes from 320 sq ft to 2700 sq ft.

Mona Walsh of NRL said that offices at the NRL-owned building vary in size and price and are let out on licenses with a month’s notice.

“The units are designed for business start-ups and local businesses in the area of NG7,” she said.

“ Nottingham Business Venture provide reception services and on-site management on behalf of NRL. NBV are also able to  provide business support and advice to new businesses. .”

Smaller offices start at £335 per month excluding VAT and rise to £1770 per month for the 1500 sq ft units. There is car parking available.

Mona added: “New Brook House has been a great success. Occupiers value the on-site services provided by NBV Other occupiers include Sure Start, The Princes Trust, Nottingham Business Venture and Greater Nottingham LIFT .”
