NRL RECRUITS NEW BOARD MEMBER
18/2/2009

NOTTINGHAM Regeneration Ltd (NRL) has appointed a new board member.

Nicola Millward, managing director of the Millward Partnership, will be joining the NRL board in February.

Nicola, 31, has been running the Millward Partnership for five years and until recently was chair of the Women in Construction Group in Nottingham. Nicola established the group at the beginning of 2006 as an informal networking organisation for women architects, engineers, developers, contractors, property lawyers and bankers.

Nicola has stepped down as the chair of the group to concentrate on other ventures including her new role as board member at NRL.

She says: “I am extremely passionate about Nottingham and I had read a lot about NRL and the work it does in the local media. I strongly feel that it is an effective vehicle to give something back to the community and contributes significantly to improving the city.

“For a long time I have volunteered for various community projects across the city and I genuinely believe that Nottingham is not only a great place to live but also a thriving place to work, and we have many things we should be shouting about. By taking up the role on the board of NRL I feel that I am working for a positive cause and can contribute to the ongoing regeneration of the city.”

Amongst her many commitments Nicola is an ambassador for a new engineering diploma that has recently been rolled out at schools across the country and is also a governor at Top Valley School.

Marc Cole, chief executive at NRL says: “I am delighted to welcome Nicola to the board. She truly is a champion for Nottingham and will be able to bring a great deal of experience and knowledge to the board. She is also extremely passionate and committed to Nottingham and its regeneration and we look forward to her contribution.”
