- NET-Nottingham Tram
Line 1 of the Nottingham Tram network was opened in 2004 and currently caters for over 10 million passengers per annum. As part of the ambitious plans to improve public transport and accessibility and thereby enhance the economic prosperity of Nottingham it is intended to extend the network by some 17km with an additional two lines to the south and west costing some £400 million. The new lines will link into the existing network at The Hub.
The preferred operator (Tramlink Nottingham) has been selected, funding secured, powers obtained and the works are due to commence later this year and be completed by 2014/15. This will increase passenger handling capacity to over 20 million people per year. NRL continues to provide expertise on the property related strand of the project's proposals.
